One person dies after crash involving a pedestrian on Lexington’s Nicholasville Road

A “serious collision” involving a pedestrian occurred on Nicholasville Road Friday afternoon, leaving one person dead, according to WKYT, the Herald-Leader’s reporting partner.

The crash happened at the intersection of Nicholasville Road and Rosemont Garden, according to the Lexington Traffic Management Center. The Fayette County Coroner’s Office was at the scene and one person was later confirmed dead, according to WKYT, the Herald-Leader’s reporting partner. Police shut down almost all of Nicholasville Road, causing delays for hours.

The crash scene was cleared just after 6 p.m., according to the traffic management center.
