A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle near Winchester Road in Lexington early Saturday.

The Lexington Police Department was dispatched to Winchester Road and Fortune Drive at 3:15 a.m., said Lt. Paul Boyles.

On Monday the Fayette County Coroner’s Office identified the pedestrian as 66-year-old Clarence Brown, of Lexington. Brown was pronounced dead at 4:13 a.m. at the scene.

Brown’s death was labeled an accident by the coroner’s office.

Boyles said Saturday evening that the department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit was still working to determine what led to the collision and whether charges would be filed.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office had not publicly identified the victim as of Saturday night.
