Dog thrown out window of moving vehicle in Lexington. Officials seeking information.

An investigation is underway after a dog was thrown out of a moving vehicle Sunday, according to a Lexington non-profit rescue organization.

Paws 4 the Cause, on Newtown Pike, said the dog was thrown out the window by their facility. The dog, a 3- or 4-year-old border collie named Diva, ran under a parked vehicle after being abandoned and lashed out at people who tried to help her.

Officials with Paws 4 the Cause were able to get a loop lead leash around Diva’s head and take her behind the organization’s fence for protection. Diva is now safe, the organization said.

Lexington Animal Care and Control was contacted about the incident and is conducting an investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact 859-962-8256.
