Heads up: Ramp, lane closures planned on I-75/64 in Lexington this week
Multiple closures will affect the interstate in Lexington this week, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
Overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, the exit ramp to Newtown Pike, exit 115, from the northbound lanes of I-64/I-75 will be closed for paving work. The transportation cabinet said the ramp will reopen by 5 a.m. Wednesday.
Then, overnight Wednesday into Thursday, the exit ramp to Paris Pike, exit 113, from the southbound lanes of the interstate will close for more paving work, according to the transportation cabinet. The lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. Thursday.
The transportation cabinet said delays are possible, and motorists should plan a different route.
The construction is part of the I-75 widening project, which is scheduled to be completed in 2026. The transportation cabinet said the project will reduce congestion and improve safety on the interstate between Paris Pike and Newtown Pike.
Also, from 6 p.m. to midnight Wednesday, officials will close the right lane of southbound I-75 at mile marker 115.4, near Newtown Pike. The transportation cabinet said motorists will be able to pass through the area, but delays are possible.
