One dead, three injured in crash on Georgetown Road in Lexington

One person died and three others were injured in a crash in Lexington Wednesday, according to the Lexington Police Department.

The wreck happened at 5:38 p.m. on Georgetown Road and Capstone Drive. Lexington police Lt. Dillan Taylor said the collision involved a Kia and a Dodge Ram truck.

There were four occupants in the Kia, all of whom were taken to a hospital, according to Taylor. One person, 39-year-old Brian Huddle, died at the hospital, according to the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.

Huddle was declared dead at 6:21 p.m. from multiple blunt force injuries, according to the coroner’s office. His manner of death is labeled as an accident.

The other three victims — two juveniles and an adult — suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Taylor said. The driver of the truck was not injured.

No other details about the crash were available Thursday morning.

The road was shut down Wednesday evening while officers investigated the scene. It has since reopened.
