A Lexington nurse gave birth to Baptist Health Lexington’s first baby of 2025 at the same hospital where she works.
Casey Dotson normally assists patients as a nurse on the mother/baby unit of the hospital. But at 7:17 a.m. Wednesday, she gave birth to Hallie Dotson, who weighed in at 8 pounds, 12 ounces and measured 21 inches.
Hallie is the third daughter born to Dotson and her husband, Seth, the hospital said.
Just a couple hours beforehand, Saint Joseph East’s Women’s Hospital had its first baby delivery of the new year. Rosa Westhoff gave birth to her new son, Tobias at 5:37 a.m. The newborn weighed 8 pounds, 13 ounces and was 20 inches long.
The hospital provided the parents, Rosa and Justin Westhoff, Georgetown, with a gift basket.
The birth was the first baby born in Lexington in 2025.
