Lexington is resuming trash pick up after Winter Storm Blair dumped more than 7 inches of snow and coated the area in ice.

City customers who typically have trash pick up on Monday will have trash pick up Thursday, city officials said.

Residents with regular trash pick up on Thursday will also have pick up Thursday.

Customers with scheduled pick up on Tuesday will have trash pick up on Friday. Friday customers will also have pick up that day.

Residents are strongly encouraged to put trash out the night before. Waste management crews will be working double shifts in order to collect two days worth of garbage in one day.

There will be no recycling or yard waste pick up this week, city officials said.

Additionally, businesses with dumpsters that are emptied Mondays or Tuesdays will be serviced on Thursday or Friday, depending on the accessibility of the dumpster.

Businesses are encouraged to clear snow in front of dumpster enclosures, and make sure locks are not frozen.
