Lexington Parking Authority will begin issuing tickets Monday for meter violations after enforcement was suspended due to winter storms over the past 10 days.

The authority, known as LexPark, will also begin issuing tickets for vehicles parked for more than 24 hours starting Tuesday, the authority said on social media and on its website.

LexPark issued several citations on Thursday to vehicles that were parked for more than 24 hours.

However, multiple people raised questions about the tickets after Winter Storm Blair dumped more than 7 inches of snow in the area. Snow continued to fall throughout the week, making it difficult for some to move cars.

“We recognize the unique circumstances that many of our neighbors have been dealing with, and as a result, all citations issued on Thursday, January 9th, have been voided,” LexPark officials said on its website.

“If you have any special circumstances that might result in a ticket, please do not hesitate to call our office to make us aware and we’ll do everything to work with you,” LexPark said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
