Pedestrian dies after being hit by vehicle near downtown Lexington on Friday

A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle on North Broadway in Lexington on Friday night.

The Lexington Police Department was called to the scene of the accident at the intersection of Broadway and Kenyon Road at 7:22 p.m., said Lt. Thomasena Grider.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lexington Fire Department. On Monday, the Fayette County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 58-year-old Leo Hull.

Hull was declared dead from multiple blunt force injuries at 8:10 p.m. Friday, according to the coroner’s office.

Grider said no charges are expected in the crash. The coroner’s office labeled Hull’s death as accidental.

Inbound lanes of North Broadway were closed while police investigated.
