A traffic light will soon go live near the new Lexington Publix. Here are the details
A new stop light that will make it easier for customers of Lexington’s first Publix grocery store will be activated Wednesday, state transportation officials said.
The new light is at the corner of Citation Boulevard and Remington Way, the main entrance to the Publix at 1952 Stockton Way in the Citation Point shopping center.
The Florida-based grocery store will open at 7 a.m. Wednesday. Other Publix stores planned for the area include one on the city’s south side -- at the Fountains at Palomar at the intersection of Man O War and Harrodsburg Road. That store will likely open later this summer.
The traffic light will go live at 2 p.m. Tuesday, according to Kentucky Transportation Cabinet officials.
The light has long been planned for the shopping center and the rapidly-growing Citation Boulevard corridor.
