The Fayette County coroner’s office has identified a motorcyclist who died after colliding with a pickup truck in downtown Lexington Friday night.

Landon Thomas Carter, 21, of Bedford, was pronounced dead at the intersection of East Short Street and North Limestone at 11:48 p.m. Bedford is in Trimble County, east of Louisville.

According to the coroner’s office, Carter ran the traffic light on High Street and came into the intersection at a high rate of speed, hitting a passing pickup truck that was traveling on North Limestone.

The crash was reported at 10:57 p.m.
