911 call operations restored in Lexington after outage
Lexington residents in need of emergency assistance can once again call 911 for emergency services following an outage Thursday afternoon.
In a release around 1 p.m., officials said a “provider issue” left the city’s 911 emergency system nonoperational. Incoming calls were ringing, but not reaching operators.
As of 3 p.m., call services have been restored, the city said in a press release. Operators reached through the emergency line dispatch fire, medical services and other first responders.
The city said 911 operators monitored the calls during the outage and attempted to reach callers using a different system.
