Man killed in single-vehicle crash near Man O’ War Boulevard in Lexington

A man died in a single-vehicle crash early Tuesday in Lexington, according to the Lexington Police Department.

The crash happened just before 2 a.m. in the 3600 block of Boston Road, near Man o’ War Boulevard. Lexington police Lt. Steven Wiggins said it was a single-vehicle wreck, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was the only occupant of the vehicle, according to Wiggins. His identity is expected to be released by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office after immediate family members are notified.

It’s unknown what caused the crash. Wiggins said the Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating.

The road was shut down while investigators processed the scene, but it has since reopened, according to Wiggins.

The crash is the 20th fatal collision in Fayette County this year, according to Kentucky State Police data. At this point last year, there were 12 fatal crashes in Fayette County.
