A Lexington man has been charged with 83 criminal counts of sexual crimes against children and animals, and two other people have also been charged in the case.

Tyler Bean, 24, was arrested Thursday, after the Lexington Police Department executed a search warrant at his home while following up on tips they had received regarding “potential child abuse and child sexual abuse material,” according to a news release from the police department.

Police said Bean is facing 25 counts of sexual crimes against animals, as well as a host of other charges relating to children, including first-degree rape involving a victim under 12, first-degree sexual abuse, first-degree sodomy, first-degree criminal abuse, possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities and other charges.

Two other people who live at the same Wilton Avenue address as Bean also were arrested.

Sarah Winburn, 25, and Tamuz Babatunde, 27, are both charged with two counts of first-degree criminal abuse of a child 12 or under.

Babatunde was a probationary corrections officer at the Fayette County Detention Center, but as of Friday has been dismissed, said Maj. Matthew LeMonds. He had been employed by the jail since Jan. 6.

All three of the people charged were being held in the Fayette County Detention Center, police said.

The Lexington Police Department’s Crimes Against Children detectives are continuing to investigate, and police asked that anyone with information call them at 859-258-3600 or submit an anonymous tip by calling Bluegrass Crime Stoppers at 859-253-2020 or visiting Bluegrasscrimestoppers.com.
