The crash happened around 10:20 p.m. on Newtown Pike, near Interstate 75. Police said the tractor-trailer was traveling outbound on Newtown Pike when it hit a car entering the road from the interstate.

Two people were in the car, and one was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. The other was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured, police said.
