Heads up: Section of Lexington road off New Circle to be closed for 3 months

LFUCG

A section of road near New Circle Road on the city’s East Side will be closed for months for an ongoing sewer replacement project in the area.

Floyd Drive will be closed from New Circle Road to Contract Street beginning Monday, Jan. 26, weather permitting.

The closure will last approximately three months. Drivers can use Eastland Drive and East Loudon Avenue to detour around the closure.

For the first few weeks of the closure, the service road running parallel to New Circle will be closed between Floyd Drive and New Circle. It will reopen when construction is completed in that area.

Business driveway access will be maintained during construction, officials said.

This project will rehabilitate the sanitary sewer system in the Floyd Drive area. This project is part of the federal consent decree requirements for Lexington to improve its sanitary sewer system.
