Vehicle registration renewals are now back online as of 8:30 a.m. Tuesday after an internet service outage knocked out motor vehicle registration services on Monday, Fayette County Clerk officials say.

Kentucky Wired alerted the Fayette County Clerk’s office on Monday, March 9, there was a service disruption between Georgetown and Lexington. For much of Monday the office could not process vehicle and boat registration renewals, titling and transfers or issue new license plates.

Other services at the Fayette County Clerk’s office, including elections and land records, were not affected by the Kentucky Wired outage.

Those whose registration has not expired can go to www.Drive.Ky.gov to renew registration.
