Lexington firefighter injured when ceiling collapses in house fire, 6 displaced

Lexington firefighters were dispatched at 2:07 a.m. Sunday to a structure fire at 817 Charles Ave. that injured one firefighter..

Firefighters arrived to the scene and found a car on fire that had spread to the nearby home, displacing six people. The fire was upgraded to a working fire and extinguishment efforts began.

The fire was extinguished, but a firefighter was injured when a ceiling collapsed on him.

Investigators are currently on the scene to determine the cause.
