Nighttime travel on a section of Richmond Road will be more difficult starting next week.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet contractors will begin resurfacing a section of Richmond Road, or U.S. 25, between Idle Hour Drive and New Circle Road beginning July 12.

Richmond Road is a primary entrance road into Lexington.

Alternating lane closures will occur Sunday, July 12, through Thursday, July 16, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The resurfacing will take two weeks, transportation officials said.

Motorists should expect delays and use caution while traveling through the work zone, and watch for signage and contractors, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet officials said.

All work is scheduled on a tentative basis and can change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors, transportation officials said.
