The majority of our digital readers come to us primarily through a smartphone or tablet, so we worked to make pages on mobile devices load faster. Our apps also are getting a new look, including our KentuckySports and LexGo apps as well as the main Kentucky.com app, that makes it even easier for you to scan through top headlines about the topics that are most important to you.
We know that you sometimes need news in brief bursts, while other times you want to dig in and explore a topic more fully. Our new digital design gives you the ability to do both.
You will see even more emphasis on videos of all kinds, and we’ll present those videos in a striking new video player. Overall, you’ll find a greater emphasis on visual journalism, including videos and photo galleries, on the redesigned site and apps.
In print, you’ll find a new daily Focus page on Page 2, where we’ll display an in-depth story on local, national or international issues that matter to you most. You’ll also find these stories in a new “In Depth” featured position online.
Our new look in print is designed to make it easier for you to find the stories and sections you want. The Herald-Leader’s new customized typeface is designed to be easier to read. The newspaper’s sections will remain the same, and your favorite features will remain anchored where you’re used to finding them.
Our new front-page print design will highlight the biggest stories of the day and offer a guide to help you find the best content inside.
Please spend some time with the changes in print, online and on our mobile sites and apps, and let us know what you think at Kentucky.com/new. We’ll continue making changes based on your feedback so you can find the news and information you want, where you want it, when you want it.
