18-year-old found dead in driver’s seat of SUV in North Lexington

A Lexington man was killed inside his vehicle Sunday night on a quiet street in North Lexington.

Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn said officials received a call about 8:40 p.m. about a man found unresponsive in his car.

Police found an 18-year-old male in the driver’s seat of the silver SUV at Kent Drive and Cabot.

Ginn did not release a cause of death or the name of the victim but said that there was a great deal of blood and that he thought it was caused by a head injury.

The man’s body will be taken to the state medical examiner’s office on Monday for an autopsy, Ginn said.

Detectives from the Lexington police department’s robbery/homicide unit were at the scene Sunday night.
