10 taken to hospital after crash on Ironworks Pike

Ten people were taken to a local hospital after a two-car crash on Ironworks Pike at Interstate 75 Saturday night.

Each vehicle was carrying two adults and three children, and all of them were transported to the hospital, Lexington police Lt. Joe Anderson said.

He said none of the injuries was considered life-threatening, but one woman was in critical condition.

Initial scanner traffic indicated that someone had been thrown out of a vehicle, but Anderson said he could not confirm that.

Police were called to Ironworks Pike at 8:03 p.m. Anderson said witnesses told police that one vehicle was trying to turn left onto the exit ramp for I-75 and the other was going straight when the crash occurred.
