Death investigation launched after woman dies, man found unresponsive in home

A woman died and a man was revived by paramedics after the two were found unresponsive on the floor of their Highlawn Avenue home, according to police.

Jill Marie Carrier, 35, died after being taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, according to the Fayette County coroner’s office.

Police and fire officials were called to the home about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday for a report of two unresponsive people, Lexington police Lt. Clay Combs said. A friend of the family had called 911.

Paramedics successfully revived the man, but Carrier was in cardiac arrest and could not be revived, Combs said. She died at the hospital, according to the coroner.

Carrier and the man’s children were in the house at the time, Combs said.
