A Lexington man who police say was one of three people involved in abducting a woman from a shopping center in November was arrested Tuesday.
Aaron Long, 37, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to a charge of kidnapping and was lodged in the Fayette County jail. His next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 14.
The charge stems from an accusation by a woman who says she was forced to set up a meeting between her abudctors and her boyfriend.
Ashley Lewis told police that a black man with a handgun forced her into the back of a blue SUV at a Russell Cave Road shopping center at 11 a.m. Nov. 17, according to court documents.

Assailants pulled a bag over Lewis’ head, took off her clothes, and told her she would die unless she set up a meeting with her boyfriend at Green Acres Park, Lewis told police.
The boyfriend, Lamar Boyd, was shot about three hours later near the park. He was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
One of the suspected assailants, Sasha Woolfolk, identified Long and another man, George Waide, as being present for both the abduction of Lewis and the assault of Boyd, according to the court documents.
