One final ‘Idol’
The swan song for American Idol begins, as the TV reality series that gave us Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood , Phillip Phillips and more kicks off its 15th and final season. First up: The audition rounds. 8 p.m., Fox.
Thursday
Kentucky Invitational Truck & Tractor Pull
Thursday and Friday will be qualifying rounds for Saturday when the 2016 Kentucky Invitational Grand Champion will be crowned. All shows start at 7 p.m. at the Kentucky Horse Park’s Alltech Arena, 4089 Iron Works Pkwy. $20, free ages 6 and younger. (Kyhorsepark.com)

Excite Night, the popular home opener for the UK gymnastics team, is back as the Cats face Ball State at 7 p.m. in Memorial Coliseum. ($5, free for ages 5 and younger)
