Versailles Road gas station robbed on the same day, same time a week apart

The Speedway on Versailles Road at Alexandria Drive was robbed around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said

The same gas station was robbed last Wednesday around 3:30 a.m.

This time, the suspect was described as wearing a blue, hooded sweatshirt, black pants and white tennis shoes, Lexington police Lt. David Biroschik said.

He entered the store and flashed a handgun at the clerk, Biroschik said. The clerk gave him an unspecified amount of money and the robber ran out the front door. No one was injured.

A Lexington police K-9 unit responded, but the dog lost the robber’s scent at the back of the store, Biroschik said.

It is unclear if the two robberies were connected, Biroschik said.
