Lexington investigators seek public’s help in solving five recent arson cases
Within 24 hours this week, five arson investigations were launched in Lexington.
The city’s fire department is hoping someone can provide information about five fires that were apparently set Wednesday night through Thursday night.
Firefighter Jessica Bowman described the five fires:
The first damaged a home off Versailles Road about 9 p.m. Wednesday.
The second and third caused minor damage in a utility room at an apartment complex on Jennifer Road. In one of the fires, someone dragged a mattress into the room and ignited it.
The fourth was started at a Lextran bus stop near an apartment complex on Jennifer Road.
The fifth damaged the vacant Continental Inn off of Eastland Parkway on Thursday night.
Investigators say the cases other than the fire on Versailles Road might be connected. Anyone with information may call investigators at 859-231-5672.
