Grandparents As Parents conference is March 10

The 14th annual Grandparents As Parents conference will be March 10 at the Clarion Hotel, 1950 Newtown Pike. Grandparents, caregivers, relatives and professionals are invited to attend.

Two presentations from Lisa Frederiksen will focus on substance abuse. Frederiksen is the author of nine books and a national keynote speaker, consultant and founder of SHD Prevention and BreakingTheCycles.com. She has spent more than 12 years writing, training and consulting on substance abuse prevention, addiction as a brain disease, secondhand drinking and drugging – all centered on 21st-century brain and addiction-related research.

The conference includes presentations on Secondhand Drinking and Drugging Impacts on Children and What Can Be Done to Halt the Damage and Breaking the Cycles of Addiction – How Grandparents Can Help Their Grandchildren, eight workshops, free legal consultations, benefits consultations, exhibits and a resource fair and lunch. Cost is $5 for grandparents/relatives, $50 for professionals.
