Thursday
In the mood for comedy or country music?
Comedy veteran Brian Regan, known for his “clean” material, performs at 7:30 p.m. at the Singletary Center for the Arts, 405 Rose St. ($42.50; 859-257-4929; or go to finearts.uky.edu/singletary-center. March Madness begins for UK women
The tournament actually starts Wednesday in Jacksonville, Fla., but as the 5th seed Kentucky does not have to join the fray until the quarterfinals round. The Cats will play the winner of the LSU-Alabama game. (2:30 p.m., SEC Network)
TGIFriday
The old and the renewed
More than 80 exhibitors will feature garden accents, jewelry, rugs, collectibles and more at the The Blue Grass Trust for Historic Preservation Antiques and Garden Show, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Kentucky Horse Park Alltech Arena, 4089 Ironworks Parkway. ($20 daily, $35 run-of-show; Bgtantiquesandgardenshow.org)
Saturday
Senior Day for UK basketball
Kentucky fans bid farewell to senior Alex Poythress. As we’ve become accustomed to, the contest against LSU is likely to be the last home game for some underclassmen, too. (2 p.m., CBS-27)
A celebration of Kentucky crafts
Close to 200 exhibitors will display and sell paintings, woven baskets, handcrafted hats, jewelry, soaps and more through Sunday at Kentucky Crafted: The Market. While you’re there, sample and purchase Kentucky Proud food products such as River Rat beer cheese and Crank & Boom ice cream. Visit 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Lexington Convention Center, 430 West Vine St. One-day tickets are $10, two-day tickets are $15, free for ages 15 and younger. Go to Artscouncil.ky.gov for more information.
Let’s go see some stars
Starting at 7:30, view the night sky at Raven Run Nature Sanctuary, 3885 Raven Run Way. The Bluegrass Amateur Astronomy Club will set up several Dobsonian and refractor telescopes to view binary stars, nebula and planets. You also may bring your own telescope. This event usually lasts one to two hours. It might be wise to bring a flashlight or headlamp. (RavenRun.org)
