Sanders-Brown Center on Aging to recognize centenarians
Nominations are being accepted for the University of Kentucky Sanders-Brown Center on Aging Centenarian Awards.
Nominees must be age 100 or older within the 2016 calendar year and must live in Kentucky.
Centenarians will be recognized during the free I Know Expo on April 3. Scores of experts who know about aging healthfully and coping with disabilities will be on hand for one-on-one discussions and presentations on housing, health care and insurance, legal and financial planning, living well and staying active.
Centenarians will also be celebrated at the Sanders-Brown annual dinner on April 7. The dinner will fund ongoing research at the center, where researchers are engaged in the battle against Alzheimer’s disease and other age-related illnesses. Jim Lovell, famous for his calm, careful command of Apollo 13, will be the keynote speaker.
For more information, contact the SBCoA Foundation at 859-323-5374. The deadline for nominations is March 9.
