Grandparents As Parents conference registration deadline is Thursday

The Bluegrass regional Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Conference, sponsored by Grandparents As Parents of Kentucky, will take place March 10 at the Clarion Hotel, 1950 Newtown Pike, Lexington. Registration deadline is Thursday.

The 14th annual conference will include nine workshops with a focus on discipline, school success, youth depression, tax benefits and navigating the guardianship legal path. The keynote speaker is Lisa Frederiksen, a national consultant and founder of BreakingTheCycles.com, which addresses addiction and substance misuse, mental illness and treatment.

In addition to the workshops, attendees can preregister for free legal consultations provided by local attorneys.

Registration is $5 for grandparents/relative caregivers and $50 for professionals.
