Cabela’s hosts preview of Lexington store, to open March 16
Cabela’s outdoor store hosted a media preview of its Lexington store Tuesday before it opens to the public on March 16.
The 72,000-square-foot store includes wood construction, stonework, a mountain replica, wildlife displays and taxidermy mounts, hand-painted murals, an aquarium and an indoor archery range.
The store, at 1510 Conservation Way, is in the new Hamburg Place II retail development on Polo Club Boulevard, near Costco and the intersection of Interstate 75 and Man o’ War Boulevard.
The store includes a café and a gun library. A Cabela’s news release said it has hired more than 160 people to staff the store.
The Cabela’s in Lexington is the third in Kentucky. Louisville has an 88,000-square-foot store that opened in 2013, and Bowling Green has a 42,000-square-foot store that opened in 2014.
The chain is based in Sidney, Neb., and operates more than 60 stores in North America.
