Two people shot Wednesday in Lexington, four total since Monday

Four people have been shot in Lexington since Monday, including two who were shot within hours of each other Wednesday, according to police.

A 26-year-old man was found shot in the leg and looking for help at an apartment building in the 1100 block of Centre Parkway when police arrived just after 5 a.m. Wednesday, police spokeswoman Brenna Angel said via email.

The man told police he had gotten “into an argument with an acquaintance” who shot him and then fled, Angel said. The man was taken to a hospital.

Police found another man shot in the leg in the 500 block of Ohio Street about 1:15 p.m., she said. She said the age of the shooting victim was “unknown at this time” and there was no clear description of the suspect. That man also was taken to a hospital. His name was not released.

Angel said there was no indication the shootings were connected.

On Monday morning, a man was found with a gunshot wound in the 300 block of Oak Street, police said. The shooting is thought to be connected to “some type of disorder” that led to another injury: a man admitted to a Lexington hospital about 3 a.m. with a head injury, police Lt. David Biroschik has said.

Just after midnight Tuesday, a man told police he was shot in the leg at Park Hills Shopping Center on Pimilico Parkway, off Man o’ War Boulevard. That wound also was not life-threatening, police said.
