Fayette County is under an outdoor burn ban until noon Saturday, as ordered by the Lexington fire marshal.

Residents and businesses should not set fires, including refuse, cooking and construction debris fires, until the ban expires, according to a fire department news release.

The ban was issued in response to a National Weather Service recommendation. Fires could spread because of dry conditions and low humidity.

To report a fire, residents should call 911 in emergencies and 859-231-5600 in non-emergencies.
