Gov. Matt Bevin, Kentucky Sports Radio’s Matt Jones trade barbs over university funding cuts
Gov. Matt Bevin and Kentucky Sports Radio host Matt Jones traded barbs Thursday night on Twitter over Bevin’s order to cut university funding.
After news reports that Bevin ordered an immediate 4.5 percent cut to state funding of Kentucky’s public colleges and universities on Thursday, Jones tweeted: “And in other news Governor Matt Bevin just significantly cut higher education funding in KY which will mean tuition increases. Depressing”

The governor responded with a link to a column on Courier-Journal.com that highlights what writer Bob Heleringer called “extravagant and unnecessary contracts” by Kentucky universities.
