Seniors invited to enroll in government intern program

Fayette County residents age 50 and older are invited to learn more about local government by enrolling in the 2016 Senior Intern Program. The June 6-10 program is free and offers seniors the opportunity to talk with key decision-makers in city government, participate in class activities and visit several government facilities.

The week-long program will include field trips to different government locations such as Corrections, Fire and Emergency Services and the Division of Police. Participants will also hear from division directors, council members and other local officials.

The program will conclude with an alumni luncheon and graduation on June 10. Space is limited to the first 45 eligible people who apply. Seniors who have previously participated are not eligible.

To register, contact Kristy Stambaugh at 859-278-6072 or kstambau@lexingtonky.gov.
