Why Kentucky highway deaths are on the rise

The Kentucky Office of Highway Safety and the state police had grim traffic statistics to report.

There were 761 Kentucky highway fatalities in 2015, up 89 from 2014. Mild winter weather and lower gas prices put more people on the roads and, according to Kentucky State Police, helped contribute to the rise in fatalities.
