Main Street Clean Sweep is Friday
Volunteers are needed to help clean streets, sidewalks and parks of litter and debris between noon and 4 p.m. Friday as part of Main Street Clean Sweep, a community-led litter clean-up in 20 cities and towns throughout Central Kentucky.
Main Street Clean Sweep in Lexington is a partnership between Bluegrass Greensource and the Downtown Lexington Corp. Foundation. Supplies, refreshments and giveaways will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at three kick-off locations: Fifth Third Bank Pavilion at Cheapside Park, Thoroughbred Park and the University of Kentucky campus.
The event will be held rain or shine. All debris collected during the sweep will be disposed of by the Division of Waste Management.
