Jim Gray launches his first TV ad in U.S. Senate race
Lexington Mayor Jim Gray launched his first television advertisement Friday for his U.S. Senate campaign.
Gray, who faces six other candidates in the Democratic primary in May, is the clear front-runner. If he wins the Democratic nomination, Gray will face Republican incumbent U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Bowling Green in the November general election.
The 30-second ad called “American Dream” focuses on Gray’s business experience at Gray Construction, where Gray was the former CEO. The ad will run in cable and broadcast markets across Kentucky, the Gray campaign said.
In the ad, Gray’s brother Howard Gray talks about how Jim Graycame home from college after their father died and helped run Gray Construction.
In the ad, Jim Gray said the company grew from a small construction firm doing $1 million in sales to a company with sales topping $1 billion a year.
