Motorcyclist severely injured in crash on Nicholasville Road
A man riding a motorcycle sustained life-threatening injuries Monday night in an accident on Nicholasville Road.
The motorcyclist was inbound on Nicholasville when the driver of another vehicle tried to cross all lanes of Nicholasville Road to get from Burt Road to Zandale shopping center, Lexington police Lt. Andrew Daugherty said. There is no light there.
Daugherty said the vehicle collided with the right rear panel of the motorcycle. The motorcycle then continued down Nicholasville for a short distance before coming to a stop in the middle of the road.
All lanes of inbound Nicholasville Road were closed at Lowry Lane for a few hours while police investigated.
