New Woodland Park playground takes shape
Workers installed pieces of a new playground in Woodland Park Monday.
The playground was replaced because of age. The prior wooden playground, with some components rotted, was removed last month.
Schunk Excavating & Trucking of Cincinnati worked on Woodland, where the playground should be installed by the end of the week. The company will move to Jacobson Park to replace a playground that was mostly removed in February, according to Schunk’s Bruce Werner.
Removal of that older playground had caused a lot of concern. Plans called for keeping three of the playground’s original wooden towers to use in the new one.
