Motorcyclist injured in Georgetown Road crash

A man was injured in a motorcycle crash on Georgetown Road near the Scott County line Saturday night.

The man was riding inbound when the motorcycle hit a guard rail and went over an embankment just before 7:30 p.m., said Lexington police Sgt. Jeffrey Hyer.

Hyer said police did not yet know what caused the man to leave the road, and the seriousness of his injuries was not immediately known.

All of Georgetown Road was closed at the crash scene while police investigated. The road reopened about 9:30 p.m.
