Enter your pie in Lexington’s Great American Pie Contest

It’s time to dig out your favorite pie recipe and put it to the test in this year’s Great American Pie contest, to be held at noon Friday at the Fifth Third Bank Pavilion in Cheapside Park.

Awards will be presented in two categories: made-from-scratch and semi-homemade. Awards will include first, second and third place in each category. A prettiest pie award will also be presented.

Applications and more information are available at Downtownlex.com. The deadline to apply for the contest is Wednesday.

After the judging, slices of pie, along with Chaney’s Dairy Barn ice cream, will be available for free.
