Injured wife of political analyst Bob Babbage shows small improvement

Kentucky political analyst Bob Babbage said in a Facebook post Saturday afternoon that his wife, Laura, has shown small improvement since suffering serious injuries in a bike accident in France.

Laura Babbage suffered a severe brain trauma in a cycling accident on Thursday. She remains in serious but stable condition.

Babbage and two of the couple’s three grown children are with Laura Babbage in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Grenoble, France.

Bob Babbage’s Facebook post said the treatment protocol for this injury is an induced coma, giving the brain a chance to heal.

Bob Babbage has served both as Kentucky state auditor and secretary of state.

Since completing her seminary education, Laura Babbage has worked as a hospital chaplain. She previously headed Urgent Treatment Centers in Lexington.

She holds degrees in nursing from Eastern Kentucky University and international business from the University of Kentucky.
