Radio Eye needs volunteers to read to the visually impaired

Radio Eye, an organization that enables people with visual or physical disabilities to retain access to the printed word, is looking for volunteers to read from more than two dozen publications.

At least 65 volunteer readers are needed for the production of each week’s programming, which includes newspapers, books, magazines and more.

Volunteers who can participate weekly, monthly or even a few times a year are needed at Radio Eye studios, 1733 Russell Cave Road. Radio Eye’s hours of operation are from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Thirty-minute, one-on-one volunteer orientations, followed by a short audition, are held by appointment. For more info, go to Radioeye.org and click on the “volunteers” tab. To set up an orientation, contact Lucy Stone at lucy.stone@radioeye.org or 859-422-6390.
