Laura Babbage has been moved to Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital as she continues her recovery from a serious bicycle accident last month.
Babbage, a Lexington chaplain and wife of political consultant Bob Babbage, was transferred to Cardinal Hill Friday, her husband wrote in a Facebook post.
He said she is “ahead of schedule.”
“Rehab is a long process for TBI, traumatic brain injury,” Babbage wrote. “The physical and occupational therapy at Cardinal Hill is well known and aggressive. ‘It takes months’ the medical team says. Laura is up to it, and we are up for it.”
Laura Babbage suffered severe head trauma while cycling July 21 in a multiday ride in conjunction with the Tour de France. Her son Brian was also participating in the event.
She was placed in an induced coma at an intensive care unit in Grenoble, France, before being moved to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital last week.
Bob Babbage said the couple and their three children have been surrounded by a strong medical team and caring friends.
