Downtown Lexington Corp. accepting nominations for Awards of Excellence

Downtown Lexington Corp. is accepting nominations for 2016 Awards of Excellence, which recognize outstanding businesses and/or individuals in six categories: the Urban Innovation Award, Landscape and Streetscape Award, Leadership Achievement Award, Perfect Partner Award, Outstanding Individual Award and the Smiley Pete Award.

The Urban Innovation Award is given to a business or individual for a successful trail-blazing activity in a previously underdeveloped area or facet of downtown Lexington.

The Landscape and Streetscape Award is given to a business and/or property owner for outstanding efforts in maintaining a visual pleasantness to downtown.

The Leadership Achievement Award is given to a business or organization that has made an exceptional contribution to the business, civic or human vitality of downtown.

The Perfect Partner Award is given to a person or organization that contributes greatly to the Downtown Lexington Corp.’s mission.

The Outstanding Individual Award is given to someone who has contributed to the growth, vitality and appeal of downtown.

The Smiley Pete Award is given to the organization, business or individual that has made a great impact on how people feel about downtown Lexington.

To businesses, organizations or individuals, email robert@downtownlex.com by Sept. 9. Include the nominees’ names, the awards you would like to nominate them for, and why they deserve the awards.
