Dress for Success Lexington’s fourth annual Recycle the Runway returns Sept. 20
Recycle the Runway, a fashion show, silent auction and luncheon where local designers unveil runway-ready fashions made out of “unsuitable” garments, returns to The Grand Reserve Sept. 20.
The signature fundraising event for the nonprofit Dress for Success Lexington is an opportunity for professional and amateur designers to showcase their skills. During the event, two Dress for Success Lexington clients will take the stage, highlighting their successes as they tell their story and walk the runway.
As many as 12 local designers and their models will take center stage with their wearable art and compete for top honors. The winning designer receives a cash prize and a photo shoot from CJ Cruz Photography. Prior to the show, designers purchase a bag of unsuitable garments and are given up to eight weeks to bring new life to the unused clothing, symbolizing that everyone has a purpose and can be successful if given the opportunity.
Individual tickets are $50 if purchased before Sept. 1 ($75 after). Tickets can be purchased online at Lexington.dressforsuccess.org.
