Republic Bank to open downtown branch
Republic Bank will have a location in downtown Lexington sometime after the first of the year.
The Louisville-based bank that currently has four Lexington locations confirmed this week that it has found space in the Vine Center at 333 W. Vine Street. The bank plans to lease space formerly occupied by Jos A. Bank, said a spokesman for Republic.
The bank still needs to get regulatory approval but hopes to be open by late January or early February, said Michael Sadofsky, a spokesman for Republic. “We have been looking for a downtown location for some time,” Sadofsky said.
Republic Bank has 44 locations in five states and has $4.6 billion in assets.
