One man was arrested Tuesday night in connection with a woman’s death in Frankfort, but authorities said they are still searching for a second man.
Billy Turner was arrested Tuesday night by the Franklin County Sheriff's office, according to WKYT, the Herald-Leader's reporting partner. He faces charges of murder and tampering with physical evidence.
The sheriff's office said they are searching for Derek Garten. Garten is wanted on a terroristic threatening charge and is a person of interest in the homicide investigation, according to the sheriff's office.
Margaret Elizabeth Smith, 39, of Frankfort, was found dead inside a home on Meadow Glen Drive with a gunshot wound, according to the Franklin County Coroner.
Garten, who is 6-feet tall and has brown hair, was last seen driving a Toyota 4Runner with a front vanity plate saying "punisher," WKYT reported.
The victim had an emergency protective order against Garten, who is considered to be armed and dangerous, according to WKYT.
